FORBES MEXICO: Agroextiende’s model that will bring agricultural export to global markets

Peru consolidates itself as an agro-export platform and shapes new schemes of productive participation through Fundo Azul.

Real assets and food production are becoming increasingly relevant in investment strategies. In this context, Agroextiende seeks to consolidate an integrated agribusiness model that combines productive infrastructure, professional management, and access to international markets.

Founded by the Maurtua family, Agroextiende was created from the conviction that Peru’s agricultural export industry could be built with a more innovative, transparent, and professional vision—one capable of generating lasting, sustainable impact. The company was established with the purpose of transforming land into a solid productive asset, managed with business discipline and focused on global markets.

Today, Agroextiende operates across several Latin American countries, including Peru, Chile, and Mexico, strengthening its international presence in alignment with the region’s leading agricultural export markets.

From the very beginning, Agroextiende committed to building a strong foundation by integrating feasibility studies, financial projections, crop analysis and selection, world-class infrastructure, and a team of specialized professionals. This approach was designed to professionalize agricultural management and develop a sustainable model capable of ensuring traceability, building trust, and creating long-term value.

As part of this strategy, the company has developed an agro-export complex spanning more than 1,005 hectares, supported by an investment exceeding USD 45 million. This investment has been directed toward ensuring operational efficiency while meeting the standards required by leading international markets and certifications.

The development includes productive farmland, advanced irrigation systems, specialized agronomic management, post-harvest infrastructure, cold-chain logistics, and strategic commercial partnerships.

Thanks to this operational and production-focused approach, the quality of Agroextiende’s crops has enabled consistent access to international markets, generating strong commercial demand and a continuous flow of weekly exports. This performance demonstrates the agro-export complex’s ability to operate under global standards while consistently meeting the requirements of destination markets.

The company’s strategy prioritizes traceability, quality, and transparency as the foundations of its competitiveness. Built upon this operational framework is Fundo Azul, Agroextiende’s agricultural participation platform.

Peru: A Strong Agro-Export Platform

Over the past decade, Peru has emerged as one of the region’s most dynamic and stable agricultural export hubs. Its favorable climate, counter-seasonal production, high solar radiation, and strategic harvest windows relative to Northern Hemisphere markets have strengthened its international competitiveness.

These advantages are complemented by a stable macroeconomic environment and a trade policy focused on international commerce. Peru has trade agreements with more than 50 markets, providing preferential access to destinations such as the United States, Europe, and Asia. This environment has positioned Peru as a strategic platform for long-term agricultural export projects, particularly for high-demand crops such as blueberries.

Fundo Azul: An Operating Model for Everyone

Fundo Azul is an agricultural participation model designed for both individuals and companies, enabling them to participate in the production and export of premium blueberries through comprehensive management provided by Agroextiende.

The first phase of Fundo Azul concluded with the delivery of 812 productive agricultural lots, which are currently operational, producing, and exporting. This milestone establishes the model as a tangible, active operation supported by real production results.

At the same time, Fundo Azul is developing its second phase, which has reached more than 70% completion, with delivery projected for March 2026, following a gradual growth strategy aligned with the company’s existing operational capacity.

Access to Productive Assets

Historically, large-scale agricultural exports have been accessible only to major investors. Fundo Azul offers an alternative by expanding access to these productive assets without requiring prior agricultural experience, allowing participants to benefit from the profits generated each fiscal year.

The model is based on participation in individual productive agricultural lots, comprehensively managed by the company in accordance with international technical and commercial standards. The structure includes complete agricultural implementation, professional agronomic management, quality control, traceability, and access to established export channels.

Rather than being a financial instrument, Fundo Azul is a system directly linked to agricultural production and the international food trade, generating annual returns.

A Long-Term Vision

With growing global demand for high-quality, responsibly produced food, blueberries continue to establish themselves as one of the agricultural categories with the strongest long-term growth potential, while Peru has become one of the world’s leading agricultural exporters.

Within this context, Agroextiende and its Fundo Azul project represent a structured approach to agribusiness investment, built on operational discipline, real productive assets, and a long-term vision for the agricultural export industry that consistently delivers value to its participants.
